Map of Protected Areas and Commercial Forest Land

This map of Canada shows the boreal forest in light green, the accessed timber-producing areas in dark green, and the larger protected areas (greater than 100 000 hectares) in red. The protected areas are scattered throughout the zone of boreal forest. The productive forest areas are primarily along the southern edge of the boreal forest zone, and also along the major waterways.
