Qu' Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan
Qu' Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan
This photograph, taken in the Crooked Lake area north of Broadview, Saskatchewan, shows the Qu' Appelle Valley of eastern Saskatchewan. This valley was carved into glacial sediments by meltwaters flowing from Alberta and Saskatchewan into glacial Lake Agassiz in southeastern Manitoba about 10 000 to 12 000 years ago. At this point, the width of the valley averages 2.5 kilometres, and its depth is about 120 metres.
