Bloc Diagram Showing the Tectonic Plates in Southwestern British Columbia

This diagram of the southwestern part of British Columbia shows the continental crust, the oceanic crust, the mantle, and the different tectonic plates located in this area. The arrows show the direction of the movement of these plates. The North American plate, located on mainland British Columbia, moves toward the west, the Juan de Fuca plate, located in the Pacific Ocean on the west side of Vancouver Island, which moves toward the east and goes underneath the continent.
