Audio Transcript of Médard Chouart des Groseilliers 1654 to 1656

Audio Transcript: The significance of Des Grosseilliers’ expedition in 1654 lay in the fact that he learned about regions west and south of Hudson Bay. Travelling down the French River into Georgian Bay, and into Lake Huron, he crossed over the lower Michigan peninsula into Lake Michigan, and followed its west shore up to the Straits of Michilimackinac.
