Audio Transcript of Claude Dablon and Gabriel Druillettes 1661

Audio Transcript: In 1661, Father Dablon, along with Father Druillettes, travelled up the Saguenay River as far as Chicoutimi. They explored Lac Saint-Jean, and from there took many exploratory expeditions to determine whether the northern sea (the eastern Arctic) was linked nearby to the western and southern seas. They were eventually forced back from their most northerly point, near present-day Lake Obatogamau due to a fear of a possible attack by the Iroquois.
