Îles marines
Îles marines
Les îles sont classées en deux types : les îles principales,
c'est- à-dire de plus de 129 kilomètres carrés, et les îles secondaires,
de moins de 130 kilomètres carrés. Certaines îles sont considérées comme étant trop petites pour mesurer exactement leur périmètre.
Après dénombrement, les îles ont été
groupées pour chaque région. N'entrent pas en
compte les récifs et les îlots reportés
en points noirs sur la carte à 1/250 000.
L'archipel Arctique se compose de deux groupes géographiques
: 1) les îles de la Reine-Élisabeth et 2) les
îles de l'Arctique. Les tableaux suivants indiquent
les îles principales se retrouvant au Nunavut (NU) ou
dans les Territoires du Nord-Ouest (NT).
