The Hydrological Atlas is a collection of 34 sheets published in 1978 as part of Canada's contribution to the International Hydrological Decade (1965 to 1974). The maps describe Canada's atmospheric, surface and underground water resources, including the factors that control water movement within the hydrological cycle. Each map is accompanied by a supporting text that provides information on the data sources, methodology and how the data should be interpreted. Map scales are 1:10 000 000 and 1:20 000 000.
At the time of publication, this Atlas served as a source of information for those involved in large-scale water planning and management, as well as a general educational and bibliographic reference for water resources in Canada.
