The map shows the crude oil exports to the United States from Canada using arrows to show the relative magnitude and direction of exports in thousands of barrels per day. from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador. The map indicates the production and exports, respectively, of crude oil for the provinces of British Columbia (37.3 / 6.6), Alberta (1878.4 / 1260), Saskatchewan (428.2 / 326.8), Manitoba (22.2 / 14.4), Ontario (1.9), Newfoundland and Labrador (368.4 / 207.6), Nova Scotia (11.9 / 8.1) and for Northwest Territories (19.1). Symbols of a factory are used to show the refinery capacity of Vancouver, Prince George, Edmonton, Regina, Sarnia, Nanticoke, Montreal (Quebec), Saint John, Dartmouth and Come by Chance. Five pie graphs in the United States that are sized proportionally based on refinery capacity of all the refineries found in each of the 5 Petroleum Administration for Defence Districts (PADDs). For each of the 5 pie graphs the percentage of the amount of Canadian crude oil that is refined in each PADD is shown as calculated from the total refinery capacity of each PADD. Two pie graphs on the side of the map show the total United States crude oil refinery capacity of 17 225.7, and of this amount 1 805.5 (or 10.5%) is Canadian crude oil. The second pie graph shows the total United States supply of crude oil and refined petroleum products. This graphs shows that of the Unites States total supply of crude oil, 34.9% is domestic, 11.9% is Canadian and 53.2% is from other imports.
